Edwin Idriss Mustapha was born on the 25th of April, 1985 in Moimandu Yawei, Kailahun District, Eastern Province, Sierra Leone. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Ed) Biological Science from Njala University. He taught for two years at the Government Secondary School Bo, after graduation. In 2012, he gained an admission to pursue an M. Phil. in Entomology at African Regional Postgraduate Programme Insect Science (ARPPIS) in University of Ghana in 2014. He then taught as a lecturer of biology at the Eastern Polytechnic, Kenema in May, 2015.
He currently works as a Research Officer II (Veterinary Entomologist) at the Sierra Agricultural Research Institute (SLARI). Attached at the animal health unit, Teko Livestock Center, his main responsibilities are to carry out disease parasites and vectors surveillance. He is also involved actively in developing mega proposals for international funding at the center.
